  • What is different about Columbus Prevent and Reverse?
    We work with people who realize that the root cause of their health problems comes from their lifestyle and now they want to implement change in their real life.
  • Why plant-based nutrition?
    Because it works. There is a large and growing body of literature that shows that nutrition that is obtained from whole-food, plant-based sources minimizes risks to many chronic diseases and can even, in many cases, lead to reversal of these diseases. Eating in a way that not just avoids harmful foods but promotes beneficial ones can greatly improve health and quality of life. Much of the focus of the healthcare system is targeted at slowing problems once they start, our focus is on preventing and reversing them.
  • Is this a medical clinic?
    Nope, you still need to see your medical team. My MD gives me context for helping you on your journey, but I won't be giving you any medical advice. I'm helping you make the lifestyle changes that you've realized are vital to your health.
  • Do you believe in conventional medicine?
    Absolutely. We strongly believe in the benefits of medications and procedures when they are indicated. We also believe, however, that there's a great deal that people can do for themselves without a prescription or procedure. You've figured that out too, otherwise you wouldn't here.
  • Can I really reach someone when I need to?
    Yes! As mentioned above, we do not carry the large number of clients that many others do. You can email and hear back from us personally about your lifestyle medicine questions within 24 hours, and usually much sooner! Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram because we are also active online!
  • Will you still see me if I don't want to entirely cut animal-based products from my diet?
    Of course! Plant-based doesn't have to mean plant-only. It depends on the status of your health right now. Even if you don't want to change what you eat at all, we can still help you. Remember though, you get out what you put in. :-) Even minor adjustments can improve your health and we will be right there along with you to support, encourage, coach, and educate you.
  • How long will it take me to feel better?
    People have reported noticeable improvements within days to weeks - but it depends entirely on where you are starting and on the changes you make.
  • Is this clinic only about plant-based nutrition?
    Nope! This clinic is about restoring your health and we have many different ways to do that. There are a number of lifestyle interventions that we focus on including improving sleep, stress management, exercise, connection, etc. These have all been shown to majorly improve overall health and quality of life.
  • Do I have too many medical problems for lifestyle changes to be beneficial?
    No, you don't. Many different health problems are actually rooted in the same causes.
  • Why don't we accept health insurance beyond HSA/FSA payments?
    Current insurance models are designed to work for brief interactions. They are not designed for effective, comprehensive coaching for lifestyle interventions and behavior change. Thus, insurance companies don't cover what we do - this includes private insurance and Medicare/Medicaid.
  • Can't I just read a book about this?
    Well, you could (and you should). But a book won't give you the personal attention we can, nor will it work dynamically with you to address the challenges you have. Also, some of the books out there are based on pseudo-science, incomplete in their scope, or just a marketing ploy to get you to buy their supplements.
  • What if I have more questions?
